JAMB Opening Doors is the creation of Judd A. Mellinger-Blouch (initials JAMB…get it?). That’s me. I’ve been working in healthcare for almost 40 years. It’s been a journey… public relations at a small community hospital, marketing and communications at a large state medical society, and, most recently, directing the Pennyslvania Primary Care Career Center.

During my career, I have found the most satisfaction from networking and connecting people who can help one another reach goals and make a positive impact. As the Director of the Pennsylvania Primary Care Career Center, that was really my whole job. Sometimes it was conneting a job-seeking physician or dentist with a Community Health Center that matched their needs. Other times it was connecting HR managers from health centers with one another so they could share knowledge and experiences. I’ve even had the honor to help people across the United States network and find services and knowledge that have helped them thrive.

Some of this was a bit self serving. You learn a lot when you are the conduit for communications. Plus, it’s a huge, wonderful, amazing feeling when a nurse practitioner or dental hygienist or a medical assistant takes a job in an underserved area, and you know you had a hand in opening up healthcare access to thousands of people. I don’t think it’s selfish to feel good about what you’ve done.

I’ve turned the Career Center over to younger, more energetic folks who will take the center to new heights. Now it’s my turn to focus on what I love most…helping you with your workforce challenges.
